This day takes us north to Alamosa, Colorado, as a stopping point before visiting the Great Sand Dunes National Monument tomorrow. Enroute we'll have a chance to enjoy the 'arty' town of Taos, New Mexico (one time residence of Georgia O'Keefe, for instance). From Taos, we can pause at the Rio Grande Gorge State Park. If time permits, there are other tourist attractions along the way, such as the scenic railroad at Manassa or the Pikes Stockade State Historical Monument at Sanford.
