If you don't speak the language, it really doesn't take very long before you begin to recognize repetitive words like "platz", which means "place" or "plaza". With just a short walk from my hotel, I found this lovely fountain, statuary and park like setting. The fountain is called Hochstrahlbrunnen. Prince Schwarzenberg commanded the Austrian Army against Napolean in 1813. The tall monument behind the fountain is dedicated to the Red Army which liberated Vienna near the end of World War II. The monument is not popular among older residents who remember mistreatment by the army.
