August 15, 2005 - Approaching San Juan docks

The dock used by cruise ships at San Juan is one of the more modern docks we saw during our island visits. Docking of modern ships is no longer done with tug boats. In addition to the main propulsion of the ship, the ship is equipped with thruster engines on both sides of the ship which are used to gently maneuver the ship to the dock.
