You would think a guy from the state of Nevada would have no interest in the ship's casino, but either my curiosity or my enjoyment of a little bit of gambling got me to the casino more that once.
I have a belief that if slot machines have really random jackpots, then the next coin inserted in a given machine should reap a reward. So, quite often, I'll get a roll of nickels or quarters and walk from machine to machine putting in just one coin. My theory proves itself quite often, and in the case of this ship's casino I won about $50 playing the slots.
I also enjoy the game of roulette and bet a modest amount ($1 to $5) on each spin of the wheel. I have favorite numbers to play, and I play corner bets so as to increase my chances of winning something. When I amass a small fortune, I then play my favorite numbers with a maximum bet, and with good fortune, I occasionally can hit the 35 to 1 payoff. My roulette winnings for the cruise were about $50 also.
Some players put down sizable bets in the hundred dollar range, won big some of the time and lost big most of the time. One has to wonder if those people are playing with their own money or are they a casino employee (a shill), trying to attract people to the table
