There were multiple restaurants on the ship, but I fell into the habit of using the buffet for breakfast and lunch, and the formal dining room for the evening meal. The buffet had a wide variety of food to choose from, at both breakfast and lunch. It was an all you can eat buffet so I never went away hungry. Usually, I would end the meal by taking away some fruit for a later snack.
For the evening meal, you were assigned to a numbered table and had the same waiters each night. That was neat because they quickly learned my habits - no water, red wine, full meal, etc. As with the cabin housekeeping staff, a gratuity was suggested at the end of the cruise for the evening servers.
The evening meals were particularly good, with a variety of foods - beef, chicken, sea food, lots of soup/salad choices - good stuff. My family numbered five of us, and we sat for the evening meal with a Canadian family of five from Toronto. It was a pleasant dining experience.
