South Beach is a community just east of downtown Miami and it offers a great deal for the tourist - shops, restaurants, night life and so on. At the so-called "spring break" season, South Beach is extremely crowded with the high school and college crowd, and maybe a few older folks, vying for space on the beach and participation in the festivities. My grandson, soon to be entering college, wanted to check things out for future reference. On the day of my visit, it was hot and humid and the beach was not crowded, as you can see. The sand was clean and the water to be enjoyed.
