September 10, 2007 - Arrival at Southampton

It's amazing what today's technology can bring to industries such as ocean liners. The daily TV status update repetively said the Queen Mary 2 would arrive at Southampton, Englad at 6:00am on September 10, 2007 - and sure enough the ship arrived exactly on time.

What caught my interest about our arrival was that although it was dark and the sun hadn't yet risen, the ship maneuvered to the dock without the aid of any tug boats or other harbor craft. In spite of the size of the Queen mary 2, docking was flawless. My praise to the Commodore and his bridge staff.
