This day was a full day at sea and the captain gave the order to unfurl half of the ship's sails for a cruise without engine power. It was great! The crew demonstrated their skill and proficiency by manning the correct ropes to unfurl specific sails on order from the caption and his officers.
Before the unfurling exercise, passengers could walk the Promenade deck and look at the hundreds of ropes tied down to the ship's bulwark, not knowing what the function of each rope was. The crew not only know what ropes to use but while the ropes are in use they are neatly coiled on deck to avoid missteps by anyone accidently stepping on or into a rope coil. Operation well done.
