Housekeeping cleaned your cabin each day, making beds, putting out clean towels, emptying trash, etc. On arrival, each cabin had a basket of fruit, champaign and other things. Housekeeping would resupply you at your request. I asked about getting a soft drink at night after the Lido deck bar closed, and was provided with a small styrofoam cooler, stocked with a couple of cans each night. Such a deal!
Notice the woodwork in this photo. It seems every day a member of the ship's crew was out somewhere applying fresh varnish to some part of the ship's wooden structure. I thought it odd though that the decks were not varnished but left in their natural teak state. The dry wood probably provided better footing than would a varnished deck.
