The Patio de Machuca is named after the architect who designed the Palace of Carlos V. The original patio walls are no longer there but a row of tall sculptured hedges grow in their place. The patio is just outside one of the smaller palaces at Alhambra, and Sala de Mexuar, the council chamber.
