If I didn'[t mention it earlier, let me say now that educational lectures about Spain, Morroco, Islam (as a religion and an architecture) were conducted each day of the trip. Programs offered by Elderhostel, National Geographic and the Smithsonian all have this in common. The programs not only offer sightseeing, but include extended education for the participants.
This photo shows Dr. Ken Perkins, from the University of South Carolina, conducting a lecture on Islam at the Palace Hotel. After the lecture period our group walked over to the Alhambra and began an extensive walking tour of the entire complex.
