It seems there are many "paradors' scattered around Spain, and when I asked for an explanation, the net of what I was told is that the word 'parador' simply means a local restaurant and/or hotel. In any case, the one near the monastery looked to be an excellent resort facility, and possibly a comfortable meeting place for a small convention. It had many sleeping rooms, quite good grounds with pool and patios, and the property had its own shoreline and beach on the Atlantic Ocean. Our luncheon was quite good, both in terms for food and drink and also in the quality of service.
