When moving into my assigned hotel room, I make it a habit to check things out - the TV, is there a clock or clock radio, how's the bathroom facilities, and do I have a view of some kind looking out of the room's windows.
As is often the case, the rooms booked for tour groups are rarely ones with a good view, of anything. Back alleys, interior light 'tunnels' and so on. In the case of my Seville hotel room, I looked directly at the top of a church located behind the hotel. This photo shows the bell tower located at the front of the church. Other things visible from my room were the spanish tiled roof and a couple of atrium-like domes. Not the most interesting view but at least it wasn't an alley or such.
