After my twenty hour journey, it was great to arrive at my hotel in Seville - the Hotel Melia Colon, a comfortable hotel near many things in the central city. Because of my revised itinerary, I arrived hours later than other trip participants, so the National Geographic travel agent had a limousine meet me at the airport. I rode in first class comfort from the airport to the hotel.
But not without a minor inconvenience. Surprisingly, the Seville airport, which handles international flights such as my London/Seville flight, the airport had no currency exchange. Granted both countries use the Euro, but what is one to do that arrives from a non-common market country. I tipped my limo drive with U.S. dolars (he didn't seem to mind) and got some money exchange in the hotel (certainly not the best exchange rate).
The hotel entrance has a grand staircase, which was impressive, but my first thought was for the handicapped. I didn't see one but there must be an alternate path for the handicapped to use and reach the lobby/reception area.
