A major site for our group to visit was the Cathedral of the Blood, built at the start of this century. The huge building mimics the architecture of much older Russian churches but its exterior and interior are done with greater detail. It was an impressive site to see and tour.
Yekaterinburg is perhaps better known for the murder of Russia's last tsar, Nicholas II, and his family in 1918. There is a site I'm told which commemorates that event but we did not visit it.
