Our private train made scheduled stops every day except for two days where we put on lots of miles. People gathered in the bar/lounge car for drinks or just to talk. There were lectures each day, so for those interested, you could learn even more about Russia and Siberia.
And of course, there were personal interests. Read a good book, do some knitting, write in your journal (or laptop, if you brought one). The train provided an assortment of DVDs for your viewing pleasure with both Russian and English sound tracks.
For the photographers among us, there were photo opportunites within the train, and you could "hang out" the train's doors to take pictures of the passing landscape. Somehow, it never seemed boring.
