I must confess, I had no idea what "limnological" meant but I soon discovered that it means the study of lakes. Okay. At the museum, we saw numerous displays telling the lake's story. This photo of a large wall chart attempts to describe the lake and its huge content of fresh water, the largest capacity lake in the world.
The lake is 600 km long (north to south), 80 km wide and a reported 1637 meters deep. You can do your own arithmetic to convert that to miles and feet, if you wish. Deep, in any case.
