As our train continued to rumble into the Lake Baikal area, I moved about in the train. One stop was to take this photograph of the very small kitchen which prepared all those delicious meals we had. The chef and his helper seemed to be on duty from dawn to dusk.
The servers, likewise, had long working days, setting up the dining car tables for each meal, serving each meal and then clearing the tables at the end of each meal. They didn't speak fluent English but with their limited vocabulary, they did a fine job serving our group.
The servers could take our custom orders for egg dishes in the morning, served beer and wine with our lunch and dinner, and came to our aid if we had a spill of some kind on the rolling train ride. Well done.
