As soon as our group had fully disembarked from the bus, we were ushered into the yard of one Old Beleiver's home. Things were pretty basic in and around this home, but the spirit of these people was quite high and infectious. They sang for us and smiled for us, showing a lust for life, enjoying what they were doing and enjoying entertaining us. I'm sure National Geographic made a financial contribution to the village hosting us, but that's somewhat beside the point.
As a general statement, after me and others in my group, had seen many remote villages as our train sped along, many of the Russian and Siberian people do not seem to know how poor they are, yet they have the ability to enjoy life given what they have and their existence.
