As you walked through a deluxe sleeping car, the decor was one of ambiance, creating an impression that this was 'different', a touch of class (or giving you something for the price you paid). At any rate, the windows were covered with drapery, the carpeting was a bit better than other cars, and the doorways that led to each deluxe compartment were of rich wood, with personalized name plates announcing the occupant of each compartment.
