I would rate the hotel as a four star accommodation. Very much up to date, with a pleasant setting and features everywhere. A canal system laced its way among the hotel wings with sleeping rooms such that just about every room had a balcony view of the waterway and its attendimg landscape.
The challendge for the first night of one's stay was simply to learn where everthing was, and specially, how to find your way back to your room. I didn't find the hotel's layout to be quick and easy to learn. You really had to apply yourself (or take notes).
