My drive from Waterford to Cork was a short one, but I enjoyed the scenery along the way. I wanted to get to Cork and find my hotel, knowing the problems I had at Dublin. There are a number of waterways passing through Cork - a river and some number of canals. Streets that run along side the waterways are often called quays (pronounced "keys"). and a building may be known by its quay address rather than a street address. So good, so far, but given the number of waterside quays, there were so many, it didn't make finding my hotel any easier. Add to that confusion, some quays were quite short, making them harder to find.
Well, my driving by instinct has its rewards, and on this day I found the Jurys Inn in short order. Being in town centre I had ready access to most attractions, most of which I could walk to. Parking was/is a problem. The hotel had a limited number of free parking spaces, after which you had to use a public fee-based car park nearby. I was able to benefit from the free car park for the two days I was at Cork.
My hotel room was along the front of the hotel, so I had an immediate view overlooking the River Lee. The room was well insulated so noise was not a problem. I enjoyed my stay at the Jurys Inn.
