October 11, 2006 - A Hungarian/Slovakia bridge link

bbb

We took this day for touring noteworthy areas just north of Budapest. We visited an area called the Danube Bend (the river has a most pronounced bend), a christian museum atEsztergom, and open air museum, and a small touristy kind of village to wrap up th eday.

Shown here is the Maria Valeria Brdige which connects Hungary and Slovakia. The original bridge was built in 1896, and bombed during WWII. The bridge was rebuilt and reopened in 2001, as we see in this photo. The bridge makes a major contribution to Esztergom economy.
