The Charles Bridge is named Charles IV who commissioned the bridge to be built. In 1974 the bridge because a pedestrian only bridge and today's tourist traffic substantiates that decision. The famous bridge is noted for the thirty statues that adorn each side of the bridge across the River Vltava. The views of the river, of Castle Hill and the city itself are quite good, so photographers and sightseers alike can spend considerable time on the bridge.
