July 12, 2003 - Lecture: The House of Romanov

07120301.htm

Dr. Irina Grichenco could have spoken at length (all day, or more) on the subject of Russian rulers and their families down through the centuries from the 1600s to the early 1900s. Unfortunately for her, Elderhostel only allocated one hour for her talk, so she had to move quickly through her presentation.

The lineage of Czars, Emperors, and Empresses is not an easy or simple one to follow. Our presenter would rapidly move from a reference to one historical personage to another. It was tough sometimes to follow her talk and correlate it to the single family tree handout she provided. Everyone in the group thought it was one of the better, more informative lectures of the trip.
