On arrival to Tallinn yesterday, I picked up a visitor's map of the city, and after studying it I felt I knew the local sights that I wanted most to see.
Today began by having a city tour with our local guide, Heli. Our hotel didn't seem to be within walking distance of the city center and its Old Town. We were bussed to various locations as Heli provided us with many facts and figures about the city and its landmarks.
The first stop in Tallinn's Old Town was to visit the castle area. Much of the city walls and towers dating back centuries are still in tact and provide a unique experience for the visitor. This picture shows on corner of Toompea Castle and the country's Parliament Building referred to as the Pink Hermann.
