May 25, 2004 - Lecture on Norwegian Literature

In Copenhagen we learned about the city's past and present, and about Denmark, Danes and Democracy. At Oslo, we heard lectures on Norway; past and present, and today's lecture was about Henrik Ibsen, his life and his works. Elderhostel met its objectives by providing an educational agenda. While informative, I found some of the lecture periods too long, such as today's 2.5 hour lecture on Ibsen. I'm more a tourist and sightseer than a student. Overall, however, Elderhostel programs are a good mix of activities, lectures, field trips and so on. I certainly recommend Elderhostel.
