This photograph gives you an idea of just how much gear, per person, was carried on the raft. This was your 'household' for the eight day journey. The tent had to be put up and taken down each day. The bed roll had to be unrolled, allowed to inflate, and then the next morning you deflated and rerolled the bed roll.

Your life jacket was with you at all times, wearing it cinched while on the raft, and stacked with your belongings when you were camped. You gained access to your blue bag each night at camp, and you resorted things for the next day - dirty clothes one place, clean clothes for the next day, etc.

Each night I thought about the next day, and whether I wanted the waterproof protection of my rain suit, or could I go with just my jogging suit, which is water repellent but not waterproof, and certainly less weight and cooler than my rain suit.

I took both 35mm and digital pictures each day, so there was the sorting out of exposed or new film, and checking batteries in each camera. I kept a diary, noting how far we traveled each day, and points of interest along that day's journey.
