Sadly, our group didn't have the island to ourselves. This photo shows cruise ships at anchor just off the shore of Santorini. One of the ships had just arrived and I watched it maneuver for its spot to anchor. Almost immediately a shore-based water taxi was out to the ship to take people onto the island. Meanwhile the cruise ship was putting its gangway in place and lowering its own launches.
