April 14, 2005 - Paros Hotel

Many of the building located on Greek islands in the Aegean Sea are painted (whitewashed?) white and trimmed in blue. My hotel on Paros followed the local custom or standard. With many buildings being white with blue trim, it makes for a very pretty scene and photo opportunity.

The Hotel Aegean is a clean, family owned hotel and my group had many pleasant experiences staying there (happy hour, dance exhibitions, good meals, etc). At European hotels, I enjoy having a mini-bar in the room, for not only the convenient drink, but also being able to use the fridge for things I might buy. There was a small market nearby and I stocked up on Pepei and local beer. Outside my room, I had a small balcony patio which I used several times to do some writing.

The hotel had an inviting pool but the weather was on the cool side for all three weeks of my visit to Greece. Maybe next time.
