The second city to be visited during the trip was Xi'an, in the central part part of China. All of our ticketing was arranged by Elderhostel, and our program guide, Zhang (John) took care of many other details for us (e.g. airport departure tax coupons, tickets, boarding passes, etc). A nice way to travel.
I thought I would include some photographs of airplanes and airports, just to show that in this regard, China is very much up to date. Our group tended to get seats together, so it was nice to sit comfortably and have a nice chat along the ride. Charlie looks a bit surprise here, but Anne (across the isle) says "it's okay". A lot of other smiles from the yellow-hatted "big noses" (as the Chinese sometimes refer to Americans).
