Given the open bridge policy of the Polar Star, our group took advantage of both the view from the exterior bridge as well as the interior bridge compartent. Obviously, being outdoors on the exterior bridge required warm clothing, hats and gloves. The wind and temperature made viewing from the forward decks a chilling experience. But for those interested in photography, the exterior decks provided unobstructed views of the ocean, icebergs, penguins, seals and anything else we might be passing enroute to Antarctica. Midday temperatures were almost always in the high 30s but given the wind chill, it took some resolution to stand on exterior decks. And, we did!
