It may not be a pleasant subject, but hey, life's life. Crossing Drake's passage was uncomfortable for a number of people on the trip but to the best of my knowledge everyone (but Phyllis) made it okay. As the Polar Star began its 1000km crossing of Drake's Passage, the ship's crew hung plastic bags in many locations around the ship. If you couldn't hold your stomach down, at least there was some help about.
If you don't understand the concern for Drake's Passage, look at a globe or atlas of the world. It's 1000km from the southern tip of South American to Antarctica. That's about 660 miles. It takes the ship about two days to cover that distance. The current and the winds from the Atlantic Ocean meet the current and winds from the Pacific Ocean at Drake's Passage, causing rough seas. A larger ship tends to ride out the waves but the Polar Star, being a relatively small ship, rolled with the swells.
