For those of us who can't afford or simply don't want to pay the high cost of a five star hotel room, there are lots of B&B-type room avaiable in greater Dubrovnik. The cost is far less but then you don't get a full service hotel or hotel room either. I'm happy with my apartment primarily because of its location. There are other things good about the apartment but then I can find fault too (room for improvement).
