A standards body for the World Wide Web.

WAITCICS
A CICS command to wait on a list of MVS-format event control blocks (ECBs).

WAN
Wide Area Network. A computer network that links machines located over a wide area, often by means of low speed lines.

WAR
Web ARchive file. A type of Java file.

WAS
A generic abbrevation for Websphere Application Server, not being specific to either the standard, advanced or enterprise editions.

WebSphere Business Integration.

WCA
WebSphere Commerce Layer

WCC
Write Control Character. Speficies operation to be performed at a display or printer.

WDO
WebSphere Data Objects.

WebDAV
Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning is a standardized, platform-independent set of extentions to HTTP 1.1 that allows uers to collaborate over the Internet by editing and managing files remotely.

WIMP
Windows-Icon-Mouse-Pointer. A graphical interface that allows access methods other than a keyboard.

WINDOWS 2000
An operating system from Microsoft Corporation for use with IBM compatbile personal computers.

WINDOWS 95, WINDOWS 98
An operating system from Microsoft Corporation for use with IBM compatbile personal computers.

WINDOWS NT
An operating system from Microsoft Corporation for use with IBM compatbile personal computers.

WLC
Workload License Charges. A software pricing model used with the IBM e-server zSeries.

WLM
Work Load Manager. The MVS WLM provides automatic, dynamic balancing of system resources (processor cycles and storage) across an MVS sysplex.

WMM
WebSphere Member Manager.

WOR
Web owning region. A CICS region in an MRO configuration which interfaces to the Internet.

WPCP

WPMEDIA
A specification associated with LUTYPE4 devices defining a word processing medium for a specific input or output devices.

WRRA
WebSphere Relational Resource Adapter.

WSAD
WebSphere Application Developer. A tool used to develop and deploy Java/EJB applications.

WSADIE
WebSphere Application Developer Integrated Edition. A tool used to develop and deploy Java/EJB applications.
